As the name implies, this is one more member of the "bat family" and indeed comes from Malawi. Considered one of the most beautiful and distinct Bats, it produces very thick leaves of a medium, lending to dark green color that are marked with almost black, wide lines that are impressed in the leaf. Unlike other Bats this plant consistently produces leaf growth straight up that can reach 4 feet or more in height. The inflorescence is capitate raceme (pom-pom like). |
